Adams County Housing Authority

This agency provides affordable housing opportunities to individuals within Adams County.

Public Housing Program: this agency operates multiple public housing developments across the county. Public housing provides safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, as well as the elderly and individuals with disabilities. Public housing tenants pay a percentage of their income, usually approximately 30%, in rent. Eligibility is further based on individuals/families annual gross income and U.S. Citizenship or eligible non-citizens.

Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program: this program permits low- to moderate-income individuals, families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities to choose private rental housing and receive rental assistance with payments. Individuals pay approximately 30-40% of their adjusted income in rent, the Housing Authority pays the remainder directly to the landlord on behalf of the tenant.

Financial Counseling: they offer free financial and budget counseling services to help individuals: create a personal or family budget, bolster credit scores, draft an action plan for managing finances, and more.
