Offers defendants charged with non-violent misdemeanors the opportunity to have their case heard in a police district courtroom, rather than in the Municipal court system. Individuals can agree to perform community service and pay a fine, without entering a guilty plea, in exchange for the case not going to trial. Based on a participant’s timely compliance with the program, their arrest may be expunged. This program may require individuals to participate in social services. Eligibility: non-violent first-time offender or non-violent offender with a recent history of non-violent prior arrests and limited number of convictions. Individuals must be referred through the District Attorney’s Office.
