This program provides weatherization services to low-income homeowners and renters to help reduce heating and energy costs by improving the energy efficiency of their homes. Services provided by Weatherization can include energy audits, insulation, air sealing, electrical reduction measures, minor heating repairs, and energy usage education. They do not typically replace windows or doors and they cannot repair or replace roofs. Household gross income must be below the number listed on their website. Renters are eligible if they pay their own heating and electrical bills and the landlord grants permission and agrees not to raise the rent or evict the tenant for a period of 18 months. Homes which have been weatherized after September 30, 1994 are not eligible to be weatherized again.
