Trehab’s community services program is dedicated to improving the overall condition of life in local communities by providing essential programs to assist low-income individuals and families. Their dollar energy program can help a Penelec, Valley Energy, or Wellsboro Electric customer receive a grant of up to $500 to be applied towards their past due gas or electric bill. From October 1st through February 28th, the program is open only to individuals who are shut off. Beginning March 1st, the program is open to all individuals who qualify. In order to be eligible, the customer must have paid a minimum of $150 in the previous 90 days. Case management services can assist clients in multiple situations to achieve self-sufficiency. This work includes development of a plan to establish self-sufficiency and help with budgeting.
