
Christian Recovery Aftercare Ministries
This is a faith-based human and social service agency providing support to individuals with prior justice system involvement, veterans, and other underserved populations in Dauphin and surrounding counties. Their programs focus on reentry, workforce development, education, and stabilization to promote long-term self-sufficiency.
L.E.A.D.E.R. Project: helps individuals enroll in and complete vocational or educational programs, leading to certification or licensure in fields that are accessible despite a criminal background.
Pre-GED Services: offers one-on-one tutoring to prepare individuals for GED classes and testing.
Computer Literacy Class: teaches basic computer skills, including operating systems and common programs. All graduates receive a free computer.
Financial Literacy Class: uses the FDIC Moneysmart curriculum to teach budgeting, banking, credit, and financial management skills.
Employment Assistance Project: provides job search support, resume development, and interview preparation.
Ex-Offender Workforce Development: connects participants with employers who are open to hiring returning citizens.
Work-Based / On-the-Job Training: a 3-6 month paid training program that provides hands-on work experience and a stipend.
Project M.E.N.T.O.R.: offers ongoing guidance and support through assigned mentors to help individuals stay on track post-release.
Transportation Assistance: helps individuals get to job interviews, work, or program-related activities.
Community Service Project: supports individuals in completing court-ordered or required community service hours while promoting community engagement.
Housing Financial Assistance: assists individuals in securing stable housing through referrals and partnerships with supportive housing providers.
Family Reunification Project: supports individuals in reconnecting with family members and rebuilding relationships after incarceration.
Distribution (Donation) Center: provides household goods, personal items, and care packages to individuals establishing independent housing.
Food Bank / Food Pantry: offers food and essential household items to individuals and families in need.
