Temple University – Lenfest Center for Community Workforce Partnerships

This program supports adult learners who want to obtain their high school equivalency or advance in their career goals. The following programs are available at no cost to participants.

Workforce Education and Lifelong Learning program: supports students who are ready to accomplish their academic and workforce goals. A blended model of classes allows students to attend face-to-face classes, register for distance learning classes, and prepare for employment with case management support. Eligibility for this program includes: 16 years or older; a resident of PA; and are not currently enrolled in a public or private secondary or post-secondary school, or do not have a secondary school diploma or equivalency, or are basic skills deficient, or are English language learners.

ESL Classes: they offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes that cover speaking, conversation, reading, writing, listening, and grammar. Individuals must be: 16 years or older, a resident of PA, and are not currently enrolled in a public or private secondary or post-secondary school.

GED testing on-site: provided at the Philadelphia Department of Prisons on State Road. If you were recently released from the Philadelphia Department of Prisons, they can help pay the $120 GED testing fees. Returning citizens can get assessed using GED Ready and Practice Tests to see if they are “likely to pass.” Returning citizens will be encouraged to enroll in the WELL program if they need additional instruction.
