The Arc of Butler County

This organization provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and/or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Residential Program: offers a continuum of services to assist individuals on their journey toward independent living. Individuals can enter the continuum at any appropriate point dependent on their needs as levels of care vary. Community Living Program: equipped to meet the diverse and complex needs of each individual. 24-hour support and supervision is provided by direct support professionals. Life Sharing Program: this program places individuals into the home of community providers for long-term care and training. Semi-Independent Program: supports individuals who have already acquired the basic skills necessary for independent living, but are not yet ready to live entirely on their own. Respite: provided as a short-term, time limited reprieve for families and unpaid caregivers of people with ID/DD and/or ASD in a licensed setting to ensure continuity of care, health, and safety.

Vocational Program: provides job training, employment opportunities, and transportation to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with the goal of finding productive employment, and increasing self-sufficiency and self esteem. Opportunities for small group employment are available through commercial cleaning services. Community participation supports give individuals the opportunity to integrate into the local community through volunteering, and utilizing community resources. The adult training facility provides valuable training through a number of creative means, while helping each participant achieve a more gratifying, healthy, and independent lifestyle.

Community Outreach Program: empowers individuals with ID/DD and/or ASD and their families with the knowledge and resources that will allow them to effectively advocate for themselves. Advocacy services are provided free of charge for those with difficulties obtaining services. In-home and community supports can help individuals integrate effectively with their community by offering opportunities to interface and foster naturally supportive relationships with people who live, work, and/or volunteer in their local areas.

Behavioral Supports Program: this program provides individuals with a more person-centered and consistent approach. The program works toward shaping and replacing challenging and maladaptive behaviors to increase function and independence for individuals in their home, work, and community settings. Staff conduct assessments, utilize evidence-based practices, and develop person-centered plans and goal motivated programming to increase the independence of individuals.
