In His Eyes Outreach

This organization works to support and education women coming out of incarceration in Montgomery County. They guide women to the proper resources that will enable them a smoother transition back into their community, offering them a trusting and reliable support person/mentor. They offer a variety of services to women, including: career training, paperwork assistance, courtroom advocacy, recovery support groups, education planning, life skill training, parenting classes, interview training, resume workshops, and housing assistance.

Mentor Program:
this is a project in collaboration with Montgomery County Parole and Probation Department, offering qualified mentoring services to both men and women in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. Once a week, mentors will meet with individuals for about an hour, discussing personal circumstances in private and receiving support and advice. They work with individuals for the last few months before their release, and for the first few months after their release.

Re-Unification Program
: this program works with the children who have parents who are incarcerated. They run group mentoring and quarterly events. This program is designed to: help the child develop a higher level of self-esteem and self-control, eliminate the feelings of why me and only me, empower the child and assist them in the development of goals, and improve the relationship between the child and their caregivers or school personnel / peers.

Workshops:
they offer a consulting / mentoring workshop and an employability workshop. Their consulting / mentoring workshop, called “beauty behind the mask,” is designed to help women discover their true self, offering hope and encouragement. Their employability workshop series helps women develop the confidence needed to be successful in their employment journey. This workshop helps women learn how to identify and sell their skills and talents, helps with resume writing, provides information on networking/job searches and interview preparation, and gives women tips on staying in good standing with their jobs. This employability workshop has three classes and awards a certificate to individuals upon completion.
